It has an exceptional quality of life, amazing food, excellent public transportation, and a strong, active community focus. It has a fanscinating historical and cultural heritage. It is one of the most geographically diverse countries in Europe, with stunning scenery and charming towns at every turn. There is a reason it is the most visited country in the world!

The Mediterranean climate offers warm, dry summers and wetter, but short and mild winters. It boasts over 300 days of sun in many areas. Spring and fall are pleasant and make excellent “shoulder” seasons to visit. Average highs in my area: Spring 63-72F, Summer 82-88F, Fall 63-79F, Winter (Dec-Feb) 54-59F. I have always loved the language and had studied basic French on and off for years (on my own), cramming before visits but then losing much of it when I had no one to practice with. I was probably at an A2 level, with some gaps due to learning mostly “traveler’s French” instead of course book French. See my blog category on my language journey!
